The COVID-19 World Emergency also involved our charity activity and our President was not able to fly, all year long, to Hikkaduwa to visit our school. This made it impossible to prepare the Annual Bookkeeping and Revenue Report for Associazione Fabio Jonathan Onlus GL. The school was closed all year, re-opening only in December.
Fundraising in Italy had a major halt, but luckily we were able to arrange a few dinners and a few events in cooperation with Elisa Romagnani, for which we joined hers and our most faithful followers by offering them pilates and meditation classes with an afternoon tea or an aperitif.
During the year we wrote a collection of recipes from the menu of the dinners that AFJO President cooked for our followers, it was called “Passione Cucina - da Onnivora a Veg” and sold a remarkable number of copies.
At the end of the year we also wrote the annual calendar, which we could sell even if with more difficulties than the previous years.
Toward the end of the year we refurbished our Butterfly Villa in Hikkaduwa to rent it through AirBnB, and from December we had some clients, exactly during the peak season, arriving from Russia and Ucraina. Following from Italy the restoration of Butterfly Villa and the school re-opening was not easy, but as we never give up, we are now ready to face the new year.
